On 28 December 2023, QSD-backed Tal Tamer Military Council shelled Turkish military bases in Umm Ashba, Bab al Faraj and Mubarakiyeh towns in Al Hasakeh countryside, killing and injuring a number of members. Unspecified fatalities coded to 10 and split between three locations as follows; Umm Ashba 4, Bab al Faraj 3, Mubarakiyeh 3.
