On 29 December 2023, a District Reserve Guard (DRG) trooper was injured in an improvised explosive device explosion by Naxal-Maoist rebels in between Hiroli and Kavadgaon villages (coded as Bijapur, Bijapur district, Chhattisgarh) during an ongoing joint patrolling by the personnel of DRG, Bastar Fighters, and the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA).
