On 18 December 2023, near Villavicencio municipality (Meta), unidentified individuals threw a grenade at the Pipiral toll station on the Bogota-Villavicencio road. The explosion caused damage to the toll's structure but resulted in no injuries. The commander of the military forces attributed the attack to members of the Second Marquetalia dissident faction, arguing that the group has the intention of increasing its control over the center of the country. There were no casualties.
