On 19 December 2023, in Kawt Hlaing (Kyon Hmein) village (Thaton township, Thaton district, Mon state), the Myanmar military LIB-24 and No.402 artillery corp fired heavy weapons, fell into the village and killed a 26-year-old pregnant woman. Houses and a monastery in the village were also damaged due to the military heavy weapons.
