On 19 December 2023, in Thu Htay Kone village (Kyauktaga township, Bago district, Bago-East region), the Myanmar military stationed in Bar Bu Kone village fired heavy weapons around 5 pm, fell into the village and killed a 65-year-old woman and her daughter. A 3-year-old child was also injured in both of her legs and sent to the Kyauktaga township hospital to receive treatment.
