On 21 December 2023, in Launglon town (Launglon township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), the SAC reported that mortar shells fired by the PDF landed on the workers' barrack of a construction company situated near the Aung Chan Thar pagoda in Kha ward in the morning. A man and a woman were killed, and eight others including four children sustained injuries.
