On 21 December 2023, armed men threw a grenade targeting the house of the spokesman for the family of a former Islah-affiliated imam in Bayhan district (Shabwah). There were no injuries or fatalities. The incident took place as relatives of the imam were abducted by Giants Brigade forces in early December. The imam was shot and killed by STC Shabwani Defense forces in April 2023.
