On 11 December 2023, in Thaton town (Thaton township, Thaton district, Mon state), an unknown armed group set off a handmade remote explosive in front of a house in Bone Kyaung Street, Nan Khe ward around 3 pm. Locals claimed that the house belonged to the mother-in-law of the acting vice-president of SAC. A house door was damaged and there were no casualties.
