On 12 December 2023, near Aye Chan Thar village (Kyunhla township, Kanbalu district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted an airstrike, dropped four bombs and opened fire with a machine gun around 8:50 am. Separately, the military fighter jet dropped two bombs and opened fire with a machine gun around 10:30 am. At 11:45 am and 4 pm, the MI35 helicopter from the military armor corp - 6006 based in Kanbalu town opened fire with a machine gun for 30 minutes. Two civilians were injured and some vehicles were damaged.
