On 14 December 2023, in Ngun Hseng village of Namhsan township (Pa Laung Self-Administered Zone, Shan-North state), the Myanmar military forces launched airstrikes on the town and surrounding areas using Y-12 fighter jets at around 10 am. The airstrikes destroyed three houses in the village. Khit Thit Media reported that a 70-year-old woman was killed by fire caught during the airstrikes.
