On 15 December 2023, in Minbya town (Minbya township, Mrauk-U district, Rakhine state), a mine planted by the military exploded near the Minbya Myo Ma Police Station at around 1 pm, hitting and injuring a 38-year-old man from Zay Haung Paing ward. The man was severely injured and lost both legs.
