On 17 August 2020, French Operation Barkhane forces conducted airstrikes in the area of Tamalat (Menaka, Gao). The airstrike targeted a vehicle and motorbikes carrying presumed ISGS militants and killed an unspecified number of militants. Unknown militant fatalities coded as 10.
