On 26 December 2023, Ukrainian Forces launched an air strike on the Novocherkassk landing ship of Russian Forces in the area of occupied Feodosia, Crimea. The strike also damaged surrounding port infrastracture. According to Russian sources, 77 Russian military personnel were aboard of the ship at the time of the strike; 33 of whom are missing and 19 were injured. A Ukrainian hacker group claimed to have intercepted an email from the Russian Black Sea Fleet's press service saying that 74 sailors were killed, 27 were injured.
