On 20 August 2020, PKK militants carried out a remote explosive attack targeting Turkish army units advancing between Pirbula and Banike areas (Kurdish names) in Haftanin region of Dahuk, Northern Iraq. 2 Turkish soldiers were killed and 3 soldiers were injured in the attack reportedly.
