On 27 August 2020, Turkish military forces carried out airstrikes against PKK targets in Qebra Zahir area (Kurdish name) in Xakurke (Wadi Khakurik) region of Erbil, Northern Iraq. HPG claimed that no casualties occurred in the attack, but Turkish sources reported that total 2 PKK militants were killed or injured in the airstrikes of the day in Amadiya region of Dahuk and Wadi Khakurik region of Erbil.
