On 3 December 2023, in Seik Thar village (Madaya township, Pyinoolwin district, Mandalay region), the Myanmar military based in Madaya town fired artillery rounds into nearby villages at around 12:35 pm without an armed clash occurring. Artillery shells landed in the village, injuring four people including two children.
