On 3 December 2023, in Loikaw town of Loikaw township (Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military troops fired heavy artillery shells targeting the Loikaw Hotel owned by the Chairman of the Karenni Nationalities People's Liberation Front (KNPLF). The military forces sealed and seized the hotel in September and issued an arrest warrant to the hotel owner.
