On 4 December 2023, near Ma Yan Chaung Kwar Yi Ywar Thit village (Kyaikto township, Thaton district, Mon state), a combined force of the KNLA, the Kyaikhto Revolution Force, the Kyaikhto PDF (PaKaPha) and unidentified local defense forces carried out mine attacks against a Myanmar military convoy of seven vehicles with two mines at around 3 pm. The convoy was transporting military troops under the LID-44 from Bilin to Bago on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway. Five military troops including a captain were killed, and six others sustained severe injuries.
