On 8 December 2023, in Paletwa town (Paletwa township, Matupi district, Chin state), the military (LIB-289) fired about 15 artillery rounds at around 10:48 am and some of the rounds landed on the hospital staff housing, hitting and destroying the roofs and injuring a 6-year-old girl.
