On 8 December 2023, in Loikaw town (Loikaw township, Loikaw district, Kayah state), the military conducted four airstrikes and firing artillery rounds on Min Ga Lar, Dhamma Yone, Mee Tat Kone, Zay Paing and Shwe Taung ward at around 12:10 am, hitting and destroying four houses in Dhamma Yone ward and a storage house, a workshop and a gas tank shop near a market in Min Ga Lar ward. Locals were also forced to flee due to the military airstrikes and shelling attacks. Casualties unknown.
