On 8 December 2023, Hezbollah forces fired several rockets from Lebanon that targeted IDF posts along the border, including a post near Mattat (Akko, HaZafon). Due to direct hits to the IDF post near Mattat, a number of injuries occurred and property damage was caused. Hezbollah forces claimed that they fired a Burkan missile toward the IDF post near Mattat, in addition to other projectiles.
