On 23 August 2020, 8 soldiers were killed and 5 were wounded when their tank was hit by a Taliban-planted IED in the Pusht Shahar area of Shindand district, Herat. Afghan security personnel were killed or wounded when another tank hit another bomb in the 'Dakhera' area. Fatalities coded as 0 (VoJ reported 8 fatalities).
