On 30 August 2020, Turkish artillery, after getting the approval of the Iranian government shelled the village of Yaram Qayeh near Maku for a period of 10 hours, reportedly for the targeting PKK forces in the area. 1 house and the village graveyard were seriously damaged. No fatalities/injuries reported by the source.
