On 07 August, 2019, a VBIED planted by IS in Qahtaniyyah in eastern al-Hasakeh countryside detonated targeting a QSD military vehicle. As a result, 2 QSD members and 3 children, likely students, were killed and several others were wounded. The detonation took place near a high school which led to material damages to the building and furniture. IS claimed it had killed 8 QSD members in the attack. Total fatalities coded to 5.
