CRPF personnel detected 15 kg of landmine during combing operations in Jharbeda Reserve Forest in K Balang area of Sundargarh district on Sunday.Later, the bomb disposal squad personnel defused landmine. It is suspected that Maoist had planted the landmine on a kutccha road to target security personnel during their movement. Earlier, acting on a tipoff about Maoist movement under the K Balanga police station, the CRPF-19 battalion personnel along with OSAP jawans conducted search operations near Hatiguda village under Jharbeda Forest. “Some of our personnel spotted a steel tiffin box buried in kutccha road. Upon examination they detected the landmine. The bomb disposal have squad defused landmine,” CRPF Assistant Commandant Sanjay Thakur.
