IED event in Deir ez-Zor, Syrian Arab Republic on Sun 17th December 2023

A terrorist explosion in the city of Deir Ezzor killed a Syrian civilian and injured three others, multiple sources confirmed.

Local sources reported that an explosion of an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) took place in the Al Jorah neighborhood, in the northeast of Deir Ezzor City, and investigations commenced immediately.

The Syrian news agency SANA corroborated the news of the explosion without elaborating on where the explosive device was planted or if the terrorist attack targeted someone in particular.

SANA reporter interviewed Dr. Mamoun Heeza, Director of the Al-Assad Hospital Complex in the city, who affirmed ‘the hospital received four casualties from an explosion of an IED, one of the casualties was already dead and the three others sustained different injuries from shrapnel covering their bodies.

Dr. Heeza said that the situation of the injured was stable after receiving proper treatment, also without giving information on the names of the casualties.

The Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, like the other Syrian northern provinces of Hasakah, Aleppo, Raqqa, and Idlib, is infested with armies and a variety of terrorist groups sponsored by the US-led NATO ‘defensive’ alliance and its regional stooges, the main forces in this alliance are the US Army, Turkish Army, al Qaeda Levant, ISIS (ISIL – Daesh), and the Kurdish SDF separatist terrorists.

The US Army is also occupying Syria’s main oil and gas fields in the province in its relentless efforts to deprive the Syrian people of their fuel and food, Deir Ezzor was one of the three northern provinces formerly considered Syria’s food basket.

In addition to their non-stop fratricide, the assorted terrorist groups and their NATO sponsors target the Syrian civilians in the northern regions in their efforts to Israelize the land, ie uproot the Syrian people, replace them with foreign imported settlers loyal to the US-led NATO ‘defensive’ alliance, and stealing the resources.
