On 8 August 2019, a magnetic mine attached to a car went off at around 11:20am in the Spin Jumat locality of Khost city followed by a second explosion nearby minutes later. In the second blast, 9 people, including 2 policemen, were injured. The Taliban reported that their IEDs had killed 2 police officers and wounded another.
