On 27 November 2023, 2 Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) members were killed by a roadside bomb planted by suspected ASG members in Barangay Limbocandis (Sumisip, Basilan, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao). 1 CAFGU member and a civilian asset were wounded. The CAFGU and military were conducting an operation in response to the reported presence of ASG members when they encountered an improvised explosive device. Authorities believe that the remaining ASG members in the area caused the explosion.
