On 27 November 2023, in Taw Kan village of Sittwe township (Sittwe district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military troops stationed at Kyar Ma Thauk (BEME) launched drone strikes and fired artillery rounds on the village at around 4 pm. DVB reported that the drone strikes injured five local civilians and Radio Free Asia reported 7 locals were injured.
