On 27 November 2023, in Pauk Taw Pyin village of Ponnagyun township (Sittwe district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military troops stationed on a hill near Thar Si village fired heavy artillery shells at around 9 am. The shelling injured a 60-year-old local civilian.
