On 27 November 2023, in War Chi Lar village of Kun Taing village tract (coded as Kun Taing Ywar Gyi) (Buthidaung township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), the military (LIB-378) fired artillery rounds at around 5 pm and some of the rounds landed in the village, hitting and killing an 8-year-old, a 10-year-old and a 60-year-old and injuring six other locals.
