On 30 November 2023, an artillery shell hit the Delenta Primary Hospital's Ambulance on the entry of Wegeltena town, Delenta Woreda (South Wello, Amhara). The Ambulance was transporting medicine and three hospital staff from Dessie to Delenta. 5-11 civilians, including the driver and laboratory technician, were killed and the head of the hospital sustained a serious injury.
