On August 14, some reports alleged that commander in the Shabwani Elite forces Mohammad Salim Al-Buhar was killed by an explosive device targeting his military vehicle in Aden port city, the country's interim capital in southwestern Yemen. The Shabwani Elite leadership, however, denied reports of Al-Buhar's death but did not deny that an explosion occured.
