On November 7 Kuki militants also attacked the villagers of Maphou Dam in Imphal East District of Manipur. Two village volunteers in these villages were hit by bullets. Nine of the injured persons have been identified as Village Defence Force (VDF) personnel Mutum Basanta, security escort of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Range 1, Naorem Kishan, Mutum Amarjit, Laitonjam Thangal Meitei, Laishram Premchand, Laichombam Ibemcha, Sorokhaibam Saranjit, Khundrakpam Somorjit Singh and Khuraijam Nanao Singh.
