On 9 November 2023, near Kawng Mu Put village of Kyaukme township (Kyaukme district, Shan-North state), a 69-year-old man was killed by a landmine explosion while on the way to collect vegetables near the village at around 10:30 am. The landmine was planted by the Myanmar military troops who were stationed near the explosion site.
