On November 1, "an armored vehicle in our convoy struck an explosive device en route to Gao. Eight peacekeepers were injured, and all were evacuated to Gao. This is the third explosive device attack against the convoy since its departure on October 31, 2023," the UN Mission in Mali, MINUSMA, announced Wednesday.

"One of the eight peacekeepers injured yesterday (Wednesday, November 1) was transferred to Bamako today (Thursday, November 2). They were first evacuated to our base in Gao for medical treatment after their convoy struck an IED en route, as part of our withdrawal from Kidal," MINUSMA announced in its Thursday update.
