One held after crude bomb goes off in Sylhet JCD procession

A crude bomb blasted in a black-flag procession of Chhatra Dal in Sylhet city this afternoon.

The incident took place in Court Point area around 4:00pm, said Sylhet district BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, reports our local correspondent.

The BNP leader said Chhatra Dal men caught a suspect and handed him to police.

Azbahar Ali Sheikh, deputy commissioner (north) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, said the detainee was identified as Abdul Kadir Jilani, 25, a resident of Sunamganj.

He said they were probing the incident.
