On 29 October 2023, in Loikaw township (Loikaw district, Kayah state), the Myanmar military (LIB-530) based in Loilen town fired artillery rounds indiscriminately into nearby villages at around 10 am. About seven artillery shells landed on a village in eastern Loikaw township. A 3-year-old child, a 15-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl sustained injuries.
