On 30 October 2023, near Lai Zar town (Waingmaw township, Myitkyina district, Kachin state), after the KIA combined force took over the Kan Taw Yang military base camp (coded separately), the military conducted airstrikes two times with six aircraft on Kan Taw Yang military base camp occupied by KIA and Alem Bum KIA base camp at around 3 pm. The military also conducted one more airstrike at around 7 pm with two aircraft, causing hundreds of locals to flee from the town. Casualties unknown.
