On 31 October 2023, Hamas militants fired barrages of rockets from Gaza toward southern Israel, including Ashdod (Ashqelon, HaDarom). At least four civilians were injured, one seriously, as a result of at least two direct hits to the city. Additionally, at least seven cars were damaged and set on fire due to the rockets.
