On 31 October 2023, Boko Haram/ISWAP militants planted an IED which detonated and killed 21 civilians in Goni, near Gumsa town (Geidam, Yobe). Four people sustained injuries, the victims of the attack were mostly women and children. The police claimed that 20 persons were killed.
