On 3 November 2023, a bomb planted by Malay Muslim separatists went off on the road in Tanyong Mat, Tanyong Mat, Ra-Ngae (Narathiwat), targeting a ranger officer from the 4514th Ranger Battalion. However, the ranger's car passed by the bomb's location approximately 20 meters before it exploded, resulting in no casualties. According to the investigations, the bomb was a radio-controlled IED hidden in a gas tank, weighing about 25 kilograms.
