On October 26, Security Forces (SF) thwarted a major infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machil area of Kupwara District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), by killing five unidentified militants linked with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in a gunfight, reports Daily Excelsior. Based on intelligence input, the joint operation led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition including five AK rifles & other incriminating materials. “Pakistan is persistently pushing infiltrators to this side but due to our alertness such attempts are being foiled with the joint efforts of the Army, Police, and other agencies,” said Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh.
