On 21 October 2023, a bomb planted by Malay Muslim separatists went off at a light pole in Pupo village, Mu No, Su-Ngai Kolok (Narathiwat). There were no injuries or fatalities. This incident was one of a series of six attacks in Narathiwat on the same day which coincided with the upcoming anniversary of the tragic Tak Bai incident in 2004.
