On 22 October 2023, Israeli airstrikes targeted the Damascus - International Airport in Rural Damascus without targeting any weapons depots at the site, killing two airport workers who were from the meteorological service, damaging runways and putting the airport out of service. Flights have been rerouted to Lattakia's airport. 2 fatalities.
