On 25 October 2023, in Dawei town (Dawei township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), a combined force of the Daung Min Operation Thayetchaung People's Defense Force, the Guerrilla Dawei and the Dawei District PDF (PaKaPha) detonated a mine on strand road near the site of a Buddhist Thadingyunt ceremony at around 8:30 am. The combined force claimed that the mine attack was a warning to the township minister was planning to hold the Alms Bowls Floating Festival. There were no casualties.
