On 25 October 2023, in Nam Ma Hpyit village (Hpakant township, Mohnyin district, Kachin state), a combined force of the KIA and the Kachin PDF attacked a military camp inside the Myanmar Thu Ra Jewelry company at around 10 pm and both sides then exchanged 20 heavy weapons and small guns for over one hour. During the fight, the military stationed in Hpakant town fired artillery rounds on the battlefield, hitting and destroying some residential houses. and injuring a local. The combined force seized weapons from the military camp and set the camp on fire. Casualties unknown.
