On 25 October 2023, in Ho Nam village (Kutkai township, Muse district, Shan-North state), the military (IB-68) traveling to Mai Yaw fired artillery rounds at around 6 pm and some of the rounds landed in the village, hitting and killing a 55-year-old woman and injuring another two women, an 80-year-old and a 48-year-old respectively. Some houses were also destroyed.
