On 27 October 2023, in Namhkan town (Namhkan township, Muse district, Shan-North state), artillery shells fired by an unidentified armed group landed in Thar Yar Kone ward at around 5 am. An eight-year-old child and a 12-year-old child were killed, and another injured. The shelling occurred during a clash between the military and the TNLA at the 13 Maing camp and the Microwave Camp (coded separately).
