On 22 October 2023, a soldiers' vehicle returning from a combing operation was hit by an IED, likely planted by IS Sahel militants, between Tokabangou (Markoye, Oudalan) and Markoye (Markoye, Oudalan). Two soldiers were slightly wounded.
